Targets of the Position

Symrise has the goal to become an Employer of Choice. As a Senior HR Business Partner / HR Director you are responsible for the HR policies and processes of our Symrise organization and support the leaders of the Flavor division in all HR matters. You make sure - together with the business heads and the employees – that we have qualified and motivated teams who achieve their goals successfully and develop the organization further for the successful future of the company. You support an open company culture in which we live and practice our values. In this role you will lead a team of 5 HR Managers. This includes the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • You partner with and coach the management teams in implementing a more effective and agile organizational model and a performance-driven culture
  • You act as a change agent and consult both on individual and collective HR issues
  • You implement the global group HR strategy locally/in your region and you ensure alignment with the company´s international HR processes as well as regulations and labor law
  • You lead the recruiting process, realizing job interviews / assessments, setting up contracts and steering the onboarding process
  • You engage with the business in all aspects of HR, including employee relations, compensation and performance metrics, talent management and development etc.
  • You provide direction, guidance and counseling to the management team on best practices, policies, and regulations to ensure compliance, employee engagement, workforce planning and appropriate handling of all other HR-related issues
  • You support the implementation of new HR approaches, standards and programs such as succession planning, organizational efficiency, employer branding, talent management, employee recognition, talent acquisition
  • You create a positive, trustful and constructive working relationship with workers councils in order to reach strategically relevant targets
  • You are supporting the HR budgeting and planning process
  • You manage and develop your HR team in Germany
  • You contribute to the development of the EAME HR function and organization (structure, standardization, automatization, technology, KPIs)

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field and at least four years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions of a similar scope
  • Minimum of seven years in an HR Generalist role or combination of HR specialist and generalist experience, preferably in an international matrix organization
  • Proven managerial and leadership skills including high result orientation, team spirit and transformational power
  • Strong business acumen combined with the ability to provide practical business solutions and build pragmatic processes to increase efficiency
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, coaching and consulting skills as well as project management abilities
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build influential relationships at all levels within the organization
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to consolidate data into concise, executive-ready presentations and reports, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional action and customer service orientation with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast paced, dynamic business environment
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, regulations and statutes as well as proven experience in managing labor relations in a unionized environment
  • Experience in making change happen, passionate about creating a better organization and a team player with a highly energetic and optimistic personality
  • Proficiency in IT applications; particularly SAP-HR, Lotus Notes, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in English and German, other European languages an advantage
